I have been at this game long enough to offer this advice. Either go big or go small. If you want to impress, go with a big name like Rolex, or even Tudor, Omega, etc. If you don't want to spend over 2k, then go small, like less then 300. You are kidding yourself if you want to spend anything in between. especially in the 800 to 1800 range.
That's horrible advice. Tons of great watches in the mid-range and if your idea of going big is a Tudor or Omega then you're either poor or an amateur collector.

Very good, well reviewed watch with a reliable workhorse movement. One caveat that I recommend people check out is the size of the of the crown and the crown guard.

For some reason, Longines love their big crown.
Yea it does "bite" your hand, tried it on at Macys and it killed my hand

So basically no real answer except a cop out answer. Nice, really helpful. God, I hope you are not an accountant.

Nope not an accountant. Any real accountant would tell you to do something smart with your money.

How long have you worked for Jomashop?
Anybody else think this guy is a douche?

The number next to my name compared to the number next to your name will reveal your answer.
Believe or not I actually like Longines. I just would never be stupid enough to pay this money for it. But there's a sucker.....
Someone should take this guy's points to zero. Clearly he is insecure and takes it out on others.

Don't worry dude. He's got an accountant, an omega and Tudor, and a big number next to his username. He might not have mentioned it, but he's also a pro, according to the label next to his username.

I made two purchases from Jomashop for their Black Friday "deals." You can look at my post history here where I did slightly defend them by saying they have a good rep. Their rep is okay. My experience hasn't been great.
On the website, they promised that items would arrive by December 2nd. Instead, they arrived between December 9 -11. I know things can get backed up due to Black Friday but the shipping receipt was on December 4 and 5.
When I received my two watches, they were in poor condition. The boxes roughed up, the watches felt like they were pre-owned (they weren't suppose to be, and besides they were $130 each.) The plastic over the watch was falling apart. I was not happy. The perfumes did arrive in good condition, so I'll give them that. They didn't seem to be counterfeit but I wouldn't know what to look for anyways.
Also, the shipment came in three different orders. I'm not sure why. The tracking for the watches was from a third party, getconvey or something.
When I called, I waited about 30 minutes and the person was not friendly. They seemed irritated that I wanted to return some items, and just directed me to the webpage for returns. I know about the webpage for returns, but what they don't tell you on the webpage or over the phone, is how much they paid for shipping. It was supposedly free to send to me (part of their deal) but if I'm returning, I have to cover their shipping costs, and my shipping costs. The returns webpage restricts you to certain order numbers, and as mentioned, they created three separate orders for me when I only made two. They said over the phone that they cannot reveal the pricing because they supposedly don't know, and that the policy may restrict me from putting these orders together in one box to save on shipping costs and printing their labels.
Plus, the majority of the prices on Black Friday are currently beat by Amazon and buying directly from perfumers. Not much of a deal going through the grey market...
I will keep a couple of items, including the Blueberry Hero because that was a good deal. But the poor condition watches and overpriced perfumes are going to be sent back. And it's uncertain how much the returns process is going to cost me. Buyer beware.

Oh really wise guy?

What is it that do you think we would enjoy? Do tell.
You think that spending a 1k on a watch would make us enjoy it more than spending 300? Let's not kid ourselves. What exactly do you think spending a 1k watch would do? More status? This Longines would not buy you that. More accuracy? Maybe, but do you think 3 sec a day is worth 700 in price? So please tell me your logic in your statement and please be realistic and not some idealistic do what you want with your money.
Maybe we just like the look, nerd.

This doesn't make any sense. If you're buying watches to impress other people you're going to be disappointed. The only people who care about your watch other than you are watch nerds and criminals.

It means it doesn't look fancy enough to draw the attention of crooks who are out to mug someone.

Mmmm, I like wearing my CW sealand(1.2k) and Yema superman(2.5k) more than my Explorer, Speedy and Blackbay
