SSD price is quite a bit higher in 2024 than 2023 across the board. There was an oversupply initially post pandemic driving down prices and companies also reduced production to compensate. Prices will go down long term but not necessarily year to year

I look forward to the day that SSDs hit $50 for 2tbs and 4tbs is $99.

Only for drive enclosures. It's a known brand. I would expect it to work like any other SSD. It will be at the slow end. No DRAM, so personally would pass on this.
