Apparently this is not limited to Macs. Supposed to work on Windows boxen too, if you have Thunderbolt.

Looks decent for adding more thunderbolt ports to your Mac mini

I've been looking at these

Extreme option due to price and lots of USB a ports I may not use - https://a.co/d/gWj48UK

More affordable and likely one I would buy - https://a.co/d/90NgH38
1 usb a port is fine for me

Cheaper option - https://a.co/d/iyMAZur
All usb c ports

These are highly rated options to get a thunderbolt downstream ports

The kesington seems decent for what it is price wise but would have to review the ratings before saying it's a good buy at $50 — https://a.co/d/521MrfC

From what I have read, this one will not.. I ended up getting the WD22TB4 which I can get PD and dual display with the lid closed.

What is better about the Kensington as compared to this Anker dock, as an example?
https://a.co/d/iGRQcj2

The Anker doc is $50 and it's powered by USBC where as the Kensington requires a DC adapter, the latter being a negative IMO.

These are all basically the same dock. They use the same intervals. That multiple USB port one just adds a USB hub that's sharing the 10gbps port.

You get this if you need more thunderbolt ports.

To connect a monitor you still need an adapter to go from thunderbolt to HDMI or displayport, correct?

Ok so some more pros of the Kensington:
DC Adapter is 150W which enables you to charge devices via the ports, the Anker can only charge the laptop, "not suitable"
Can do dual 4K at 60hz whereas Anker does dual 4K at 30hz. Must have a MAX or PRO chip on Mac for dual monitor setup, won't work otherwise.
Moar Thunderbolt USBC ports as Timless mentioned.
