Truly one of the best games of all time. Amazing story and world building. Fun combat and feels like your decisions have impact on the story. If you've never played and you enjoy this style of game this is a fantastic deal even if it's an older game.

Ever since they released the next-gen update, the sale price has been hovering around $12.50 - $15. Nice to see it come back down to $10. Incredible deal for one of the biggest and best games ever made!

How does this game hold up in 2024?
A couple years ago they revamped the game on par with a remaster with updated graphics and tweaked mechanics. Performance can be an issue if you're trying to use raytracing (I would get occasional stutters with my 3080ti but generally was fine) but even without it the graphics are still stunning by today's standards. I'd say the only reason not to get this is if you truly abhor the combat which can be simplistic but actually has a lot of systems to play around with if you're willing to do so. It's lauded as one of the best written RPG's of all time and even when they were at full price the DLC's were worth it because they are among the most extensive ever made and enhance and elevate the game. Many agree they're the best parts of the game and considering the quality of the base game that's saying something. For $10 you're getting dozens of hours of exploring a well crafted world that looks stunning and actually gives you quests that make you think about what exactly is the right thing to do in the situation. It can be a slow burn in the beginning but once it clicks you'll be in for quite a ride.

Don't you have anything better to do with your weekend than follow me around?

So, I have watched this game over the years and never actually picked it up. Read the first book and watched the series, which are amazing!

Looking to pick this up but I can't decide what platform. I have and older PC with a 1080 TI, Ryzen 5, 32gb ram, and SSD. Runs most games well. I also have an original PS5 disc version. Which would be better, any opinions? Also is a controller preferred over KB and mouse? Thx!

Aww, I'm sorry but no one follows you around, you just turn up in places where you aren't useful.

Game looks great after the next-gen update! It runs surprisingly well on 1440p high-ultra settings on my older pc with a i5 11400 and 3060 ti.
It's a good deal with the DLCs included. If you haven't played it yet or want to own it on steam don't hesitate to pick it up.

Your PC should be able to run it on high settings 30-60 FPS+ if you're playing on 1080p.
If you're into using mods perhaps the PC version would allow you to extend or customize the game to your liking.
You're able to transfer saves between platforms now through GOG.
Up to you really - PS5 is also an excellent choice to enjoy the game. Controller use may be preferred if you'd like to save your wrist Smilie

I have never had any interest in RPGs. This game is the exception. It's great. Everyone should have it.
