Between this and Costco's $500 v15 detect vacuum- I know that there is no huge difference between detect and detect absolute. Nd certain cashback gives you 10% from dyson website. Is this a better deal than costco?

I haven't had a problem with the two I've had 5yrs+ (V7 and a bit older Ball plug-in), but there's value in Costco's generous return policy if it happens to fail just out of warranty and Dyson just replies with a repair quote/cost.

I really like the "Built-in dusting and crevice tool" that the dyson site has.


I purchased for $550 a few weeks ago and was able to price match it down to $500.

It's an amazing vacuum. The green light is awesome. Has amazing suction for cat litter whereas our other vacuums would just leave the litter in the base/spindles and would all fall out when i turned the vacuum off

looks like this is $400 for a refurbished one but only 6 months of official dyson warranty and 2 yrs of Allstate - is $100 bucks worth it for a brand new one?

Up to you but I had a v7 which I gave away after 6 years to rents and bought a v11 two years ago both refurb from Dyson, and not a problem. I think prior they gave 1 year but if you have a CC that matches that helps but 2 years should be good enough to see if there are issues.

Both refurbs looked new to me and all accessories were. Now my only reco is get backup HEPA filter so you can switch them out because on these newer ones when you wash the filter if you put it back in wet you can easily kill the machine because the intake and HEPA are now one filter.

I know I am one person but I pretty much buy everything refurb that I can. I don't think I haven't bought a new vacuum in the last 20 + years. Refurb or used.

Also its sort of environmentally good to buy an already existing "refurb" than cause more needless carbon emissions buy buying new. I know it doesnt matter to most, but a thought.

Upgraded from my Tineco cordless to the V15 from Costco and this is a game-changer, especially if you have carpet/rugs. The Dyson made Tineco look like a joke! Our carpets look brand new now, thought it needed steam cleaning just needed a powerful vacuum. We pulled up bins and bins of dust and pet hair.
We also ran this on our couch and fabric ottoman, the Dyson actually revitalized the foam/stuffing to make it look fuller like new! $500+ is a LOT of money, but if you can afford it, it is worth it.

That's helpful thank you! Do you think there is a big difference between the digital slim and v15?

I also notice that there is the v15 absolute and v15 total clean which comes with a few more tools for $50 more. Do you think that's worth it?

The one thing to know is that the slim models use different accesories that are incompatible with all the others so down the road it may be harder or more expensive to get them. Also the slim models have much smaller canisters. So that is my only guidance there. If you need it for small duty the slim is good and lighter. If not and for larger jobs maybe a regular or outsized and they use the "regular" accessories.
