It's a gaming laptop and if you have all the power hungry devices running while playing a game then yes, you're not going to have a long battery.

If you want a laptop with better battery life then don't get a gaming laptop or turn down all the power hungry devices. People have easily extended the battery life on gaming laptops to over 5 hours by doing so.

Complaining about battery life on a gaming laptop is like complaining about MPG on your 500HP sports car.
Seems like a good deal. Legion laptops run hot, I have a lot of them. I have to use a powerful fan cooler underneath it, the $80 expensive one that has one giant turbine cyclone fan. Battery life is terrible, sometimes 90 minutes, sometimes 45, even in silent mode doing powerpoints.

All said, when the 5090s come, I'll still buy another Legion, I like them and their builds better than any other laptop brand.

In a few months this laptop should be much cheaper.

I think it's only the 9i models. They are very expensive.

This is THEE only reason I went with the acre predator for my 4080 laptop. They have mini led 250hz at 1999 price point. They recently had it for 1600 on eBay acre certified refurbished

It's a decent deal, but the 5000 series is around the corner. The bigger problem is that this is a Laptop 4090, which is still a great GPU, but it's a misnomer. It's not a true 4090. The 4090 mobile is generally around the 3090 desktop in terms of performance.

Will the 4080 version of this laptop hit close to $1500 next year? I want to upgrade from a legion 1660ti and am wondering if I should just buy the 4060 version or wait for next year and get the 4080. I don't really see a need for the 4090 in my case.

The mobile versions such as this HX are not affected. Only the desktop chips were, and furthermore like you pointed out are fixed with a bios update.

HX laptop CPUs are desktop chips. Any HX CPU 65 watts or above is potentially affected. Multiple laptop manufacturers have released BIOS patches for their HX laptops with Intel's fix, to avoid having to replace laptops under warranty.

I got this one last year for $2500 untouched, opened for contents check only. If anyone wants this and saving another $200, you can have it for $2100 but you must pay shipping. Posting on marketplace this week also. My dumb ass just thought I needed it, I went with MacBook instead.

Did you sell the legion?
