I always bought used ones on FB Marketplace and got them as low as $150 for different size boxes. And when I didn't use them I sold them for the same price back on FB.
I wouldn't buy new since all they do is sit on the roof of the car. They're bound to be scratched so it never bothered me to buy them used and save hundreds.
But I can't have the previous owner's TEVA stickers on there when I'm a Chaco fan! You have to be kidding me. "Indiana Dunes National Park"? I'm buying new. My 4Runner TRD Pro deserves better. Like Big Bend or above. But not Yosemite, that's too mainstream.

Kidding. This stays on my Crosstrek, empty, 350 days a year.

+1, used/private is a goldmine.
A place to put stickers and get worse gas mileage on top of your Subaru

This is ok deal. Good post. Whenever these goes on sale like once a year for random models it's generally close to 600 for this size. Hot deal buy it if you don't need it would be 500 or less for this size or Thule comp.
can always get lower price in used market but that is depending on where you are located. Retail this is better than the frequent crappy 700+ sales. The full price is useless. No one pays that

The Thule version of this (low profile meant for skis/boards) was $475 during BF but at least this is similar in price if you missed that.

Which model was the one at this price? I've been eyeing the Thule Motion 3 and those only got a 20% discount.

This is a pretty good deal for those of us who live where nobody for many miles ever sells used on FB/Craigslist/etc
