I have checked, and I can see that was charged $12.99 for the movie purchased, along with $0.78 for sales tax and $0.78 franchise fees.

Nice of them to tell us they're changing the way reward codes are handled. I'm sure their support people love being hammered for no reason. At least this got resolved. I just have to remember to check it.

Now, none of the four or five customer service people had ANY clue what was going on, and each of them needed the same information I had provided to all of the others, so it's not like the customer service is great, but at least they fixed the problem well in advance of my reaching out to them. I'm glad to not have to spend any more time arguing with them about this. Thanks for all the posters who were on top of this.

12/10: $12.99 one time charge
12/13: -$12.99 xfinity coupon credit
Did not have to contact support to get the credit
However $1.32 sales tax was not credited back
Going to try to contact support...
UPDATE: 10 minutes of trying to contact someone via Xfinity Assistant results in this. So frustrating!
"Sorry, something went wrong and I can't connect you with an agent right now. Do you want to schedule a callback?"
After choosing: Schedule a call
"Hmmm, it looks like something went wrong with your request. Please try again later, or ask the Xfinity Assistant a question."
UPDATE 2: Had to call in to get the sales tax credited - no problems after calling in.
