Only issue with fingerprint technology if you're like me a wrench on stuff your fingers get beat. I can use anything fingerprint because the skin gets damaged from working, and then the device will not work with my finger.
I recently switched to Eufy eco-system (one E340 doorbell and two E30 floodlight cam). The experience so far has been great.
I did some research on this E30 smart lock, but it seems this is a pretty new product and there hasn't been much customer feedbacks yet. All the review videos on Youtube are Eufy sponsored influencer videos. Sure you can learn a lot of from those review videos, but those people have not used this long enough to provide objective / negative feedbacks.
There ain't much discussions on this product on reddit other than some complains about battery draining. This product only came out 2-3 months ago. It advertises that 8xAA batteries lasts up to 8 month (with 10 unlocks per day), but some people already had to replaced batteries after 2 months.
I was watching these during the black friday "sale" and they never dipped below $100, thus confirming what many of us suspected about black friday sales for things like this.
How do these work if you get multiple for a front and back door? Can they be re-keyed? Or is there a better smart lock option?
Why would you need that? If you just want to use keys, use a regular lock.
These are smart locks so they use finger print, code, or app... Just bring 1 key with you if you're worried to let yourself in one lock. Though the likelihood of both locks being broken at the same time has to be astronomically low.

it's funny because some things are not as much of a deal and likewise i've been keeping an eye on some appliances and missed out on $1k in savings.

Can you really not imagine a need to have all of the locks to a house share 1 key? I have 5 external doors and 1 garage door that 2 of the external lead to, I don't want 6 different keys. I specifically bought locks that are able to be re-keyed at any time and before I would replace them at the two main entrances they would need to be able to be re-keyable. I don't think that is asking much if I'm dropping $100+ on a lock.

These are smart locks. You should never be using the keys.
So yes, it is really that hard to imagine anyone having the need to have all the locks use the same physical key. Again, you should only need to carry 1 key with you for 1 lock in the rare case that the electronic lock malfunctions.
I have had my Eufy lock for 2 years and never once have I used the key for it.

In case the electronic part malfunctions. It's in the message you're replying to. Or if the battery dies and you are still outside trying to get in.
/sigh
edit:
Just because the person I was replying to doesn't use the keyhole doesn't mean that nobody will. All I was saying is that asking to change the physical part of an expensive lock isn't really that much to ask. It doesn't matter if they use that feature or not.
I guess if someone manages to steal or obtain a copy of the physical key, then it is acceptable to keep the lock because who uses it? That is just 1 example.

If you plan to use eufy style keys, then yes, they can be rekeyed. If you want to use a schlage or kwikset key, you'll have to buy a new cylinder and modify it for it to fit in this lock. If you get multiple locks, they will each have their own key, but they show up in the app side by side.
Do they sell a matching handleset? My front door lock and handle is a bronze color so I'd need a new handle if I buy a black lock, but I don't see it on their page.
I've had a C220 (older version of C30 it seems) and it works great. Only a couple times have I had to press my fingerprint more than once. I'm out and in only a couple times a day and the batteries that came with it (alkaline?) lasted over 6 months. Then I replaced them with Eneloop rechargeables (they say don't use rechargeables) and they last over 2 months. I keep another set of Eneloops ready so there's no down time. It's set up on Alexa, too, so when I say goodnight, Alexa shuts everything off and locks the Eufy, if it isn't already.
Powered by 8 AA batteries!
I had the C22 Eufy fingerprint door lock which also uses 8 AA batteries. 🪫 Batteries needed replacement after four weeks. I contacted Eufy and they forced a firmware update that was supposed to fix the problem. I was two weeks in on the new batteries when I got the update. Two weeks later the batteries needed replacement. This was installed on a door that didn't see that much usage. Eufy agreed to refund my purchase price after I refused a 30% refund if I agreed to continue to be a guinea pig.

Sorry, I'm not buying anything with biometrics that's made by Chinese companies because then your fingerprint gets digitized and sent back to the Chinese Communist party. Next thing we'll know in a year or so that Eufys been totally compromised.
You people buying biometric locks ought to think about this aspect. Do you even want the Chinese government to have your fingerprints as well?
Instead of spreading fear and propaganda, why not learn how to secure your network?

Anyway, decided to place to order and give a try.
