With the recent deals on 4060s, this feels lukewarm.
It's definitely not as attractive as some of the other recent deals for newer systems, but it's right in line with where it should be, given the 4070 and 13th gen processor.
The DDR5 is also on the slower end, but it tops out what is supported by the 13th gen.
As long as you don't continue to do any comparison shopping, it's still a very passable system.
This doesn't seem that great compared to the specs on the $1299 Costco ibuypower Black Friday deal with the i9-14900F, 4070 Super, 32gb ram and 2tb SSD. It had an ASUS mATX motherboard with air cooled components, so unless if this has more premium parts I'd struggle to see the value here if more deals with a 4070 Super and i9 is only $100 more.

There's always going to be a bigger fish.
Hindsight being what it is, the Costco deal was good, but you also could have spent $400 more and gotten a 4080 Super on a different system at one point.
Comparison shopping has to have a limit. Otherwise, you end up with no fish.

This is so true. I've spent way too long comparison shopping; just looking for the best possible deal. I finally bought the Costco BF iBuyPower computer. It arrived a couple days ago and I'm setting it up this weekend. Sometimes, you just gotta decide "this is it" and make your decision.

Could you link me to that one? I thought the best card from the Costco offerings was a 4070 super. How much was the one you got?

The good news is that whatever "better" deal comes out a week after you purchase will have just as many people shitting on it as well :-D
I will buy a new desktop if there's an amazing deal, but I don't need one. my current barometer is the alienware deal that I missed that had an i9 and a 4080 super for $2k, but after various cash back and amex and other discounts was closer to $1500. I'd buy that in a heartbeat if it comes back, but all the other deals I've seen lately have been fine, but less compelling.

edit: it has Ryzen 7 7700 (not 14700), but is now at $979.
