Also available on anova directly for $49 with code HOLIDAY10 stackable for extra 10% off making it effectively less. I believe it's the same model, although 850W on the website. I hate the subscription 9.99 a year ordeal but I also have their precision oven at my parents so I guess it's worth it?

Lets be straight. My 5 year old Anova is now a brick because they are no longer supporting it. Also they want a subscription for something that is set the time and temperature. That is beyond ridiculous, and there are other ones out there that won't charge you for this.

Probably just going to have to not update Joule app for older models or just use it with Bluetooth. Glad I also have Anova that works without an app.

You fan still set time and temp without the app, which is all I would ever want to do with a sous vide.

I was in the market for a sous vide and got a good deal on the ANOVA precision (2.0) used like new from Amazon for $60. It's their middle of the road cooker and it's the previous model. I think you can get them new for around $100. It's got manual controls so you can use it without paying for the app subscription. The app is garbage anyway, your WiFi password can't contain special characters else the device can't connect.
