Looks like a solid price. I know this model has been around for a few years now, but it has solid performance, good reviews, and pretty good latency for gaming at 4k60. Notes are it is pixel shifting (most 4k projectors are at this price range) and I don't believe it supports higher refresh rate than 60hz even at lower resolutions, so someone looking for twitchy response gaming like competitive fps may want to consider other options (BenQ has a few that will do even 1080p/240hz to drop that latency even lower).

I've seen a couple sites note this model has been discontinued as of May 2024, so take with that as you will.

I would probably pass unless you need a high lumen UST or are a gamer who cares more about input lag than refresh rate, in which case this is a no brainer. It does use a lot of the same technology as the LS800 which is one of the best options on the market right now.

The 3LCD chip is brighter but has less contrast than its competitors in the same class that are using DLP. It also offers less crisp of a picture imo. It wouldn't be my first choice if you're looking for something for movies.

The brightness on this Epson is insane, but its not a native 4k UST.. it was discontinued in October.

Supported Resolutions 3840 x 2160, Full HD 1080p/i,

How long do these typically last, and are they serviceable?

What's the optimal set up for this thing? Just sit it on a table or hanging from the ceiling?

set it on a table in front of the screen / wall.
The issue with UST is any light drowns the picture, any imperfection in the wall is magnified.
Any ripple in the screen is visible.

What's a good alternative to this one?

I'm familiar with the ls800 because my brother has it, but now my dad's interested in UST too, but probably doesn't need to spend extra for an ls800

It's 4K, but pixel shifting tech. Which most of the ones in this price range are, so not unexpected. So I'm not sure what you mean.

I am still rocking my almost 3 year old Wemax Nova. The OS is pretty slow these days, but I use a Firestick with it.

This is a good price. I'd go with a more established brand like Epson, LG, or even HiSense if I were to do it again, just for the post sales support if you run into any issues.

I own this projector and have had a great experience with it for gaming and mine is from the ceiling with a chief mount projected at elite screens 120 inch. I use it with the lights on and there is no noticeable difference between this and my 4K TV That is 77 inches.
