That's strange. You don't need to spray walnuts with anything. They just grow. Black walnuts, in particular, make every parasite or insect die.

I've purchased these many times and never tasted any "awful" in then.

Expire Date?!
I have been getting 'not so fresh' to 'goes stale much sooner than expected' food items from Amazon lately. Never had "fresh" snacks like you would get from local clubs or giant grocery stores.

They can only get this from the store, and I've never seen them on sale, they are excellent walnuts at an excellent price. But the only conclusion is that they are buying up pallets of walnuts that are on the verge of expiring.
