I had an offer accepted on Greentoe for a brand new Canon EOS R3 for $3500 including shipping.

I realize this is a super-niche deal and won't apply to many people, but posting because I had an alert set for the R3 and would have appreciated a heads up myself.

I spent about a month playing with offer amounts on Greentoe with various counter-offers usually at $3700, until I finally offered $3500 and that was the golden number to have a bid accepted. Obviously YMMV.

QA Note: This seems to be the direct link to the camera hopefully. It's the only one I could find on their site.

Greentoe doesn't allow you to reveal the seller, but in my case it was a small independent authorized Canon dealer and yes, USA warranty.

Awesome. I assume $3500 +tax? Have you received it yet, or did you just get the acceptance message?

Out of curiosity, what lens(es) are you planning to shooting with? I'm coming from a 5D IV, but want something new for the upcoming baseball season and have had my eye on this.

No tax! Greentoe prices are all-in prices. It has shipped already by UPS. I actually contacted the dealer after the offer was accepted to see if they'd do me a deal on an extra battery to ship in the same box, which they did.

I've been a photojournalist for 20 years. I sold my pair of R5 bodies a few months back and bought one R5 II to see if I wanted a pair of them. Can't honestly say I notice much of a difference for stills from the R5, and I've been craving having a 'real' pro camera again, so excited to get this and go back to decent sized batteries and an indestructible body. I think the low-light performance is supposed to be better too. If I need super high quality, or large crops, I'll use the R5 II.

Did you buy the R5II from greentoe as well? What offer you got? I'm planning buying the R5II body, but wondering how low the price can go.

I did not, I stupidly bought it on release at full price, and then a couple of months later saw the post on here where some got it for $3750 (I think) on Greentoe.

I have both the R5 and R3 and can confirm that the low light performance is far better. What I like most is that the focusing is far more snappy. I use long lenses for birds and if I miss and it focuses to infinity it will snap back and find it, without having to stop and focus on something closer.

Once you submitted your $3500 offer, how long did it take for it to be accepted?

I offered $3400 and kept getting offers for $3600 which I was going to take. I upped my offer to $3500 and had it accepted the next day.

Amazing! Hope I can replicate. I also tried $3400 yesterday. Counteroffers have been $4k+. I adjusted my offer to $3500 last night. Nothing yet.

Have you purchased any glass through Greentoe recently?

I haven't, I usually just shop at B&H with the Payboo card

I keep eyeing up upgrading my RF 24-70 to the RF 28-70, $2469 on B&H with a sale and Payboo discount is an amazing price. Just not sure about the extra weight

Trying a price of $69. That size camera and price gives me 1990's digital camera vibes.

I pulled the trigger on the R5 Mark II about a month ago on Greentoe (search for the last thread on it). $3750, no tax!

Wow. Well done! Haven't had luck on the R3 for $3500. May try for the R5 MK II.
