I called to find out if the motherboards have 2 full size M.2 NVME SSD slots. the iBuyPower tech rep said they do. There are 3 motherboard options depending on the build batch.
ASUS Prime B650 motherboard spec sheet https://www.asus.com/us/motherboa.../techspec/
MSI Pro B650 motherboard spec sheet https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/P...cification

Agree with nicemann. The recent $999 7900 GRE deal from Walmart was a step up from this one, and came with more storage and RAM. The 7900GRE itself is also slightly better overall than the base 4070 according to community testing (outside of a few specific cases). Somewhere between a 4070 and 4070ti, although different sites are reporting different rankings, it's in that ballpark. Most common comparison I've seen is that it is similar to the 4070 Super (aka 4070 Refresh, an upgrade to the base 4070).

Don't want to get too deep into a side-conversation about NVIDIA vs AMD, but it is true that NVIDIA as the dominant GPU maker and market leader tends to have more software features and driver updates available initially, and it usually takes a bit more time for AMD and Intel to catch up. That being said, it usually doesn't take too long for the others to catch up with reasonable driver updates and feature releases. If you don't care about being on the absolute cutting edge in terms of software optimization and features, it probably won't be an issue for you.

The only real catch to that particular AMD deal was that a lot of the computers from that deal were using a Western Digital SSD with an old firmware version that had conflicts with newer versions of Windows 11, causing BSOD crashes. Many people in that thread did say that there's a good chance the computer will pop up on sale again but be "open box" because so many people bought it and the less-tech-savvy buyers probably didn't know how to upgrade the SSD firmware, leading to more potential people returning the computer if they run into problems. The solution was super easy to do though, so the tech-savvy buyers got a fantastic deal with no real caveats.

That being said, I'm not encouraging anyone to wait for a new sale on that particular build. This is still a solid deal more in line with people's expectations. The other one was just a once-in-a-blue-moon event (hence why it absolutely blew up here on SlickDeals and sold out within like 2 days).

In terms of CyberpowerPC vs IBUYPOWER, it seems like the general consensus is they operate in a similar tier. I've seen tons of people both complimenting and complaining about their respective build qualities and customer service (and a lot of the "evidence" to back up either side is anecdotal, so it's hard to really tell if one is truly better than the other). I haven't taken a look at their particular warranties, but in terms of just the product you'll get something similar (hello to the incoming "no, actually you're wrong!" crew ready to tell me just how wrong I truly am). Product failure is always a part of the risk of buying any prebuilt, so you'll have to do your best to determine whether or not the value proposition being offered up front is worth the risk, and how good their warranties or return policies are in event that your product does fail.

Just bought this cyberpower from Sam's for my kid yesterday for Roblox/whatever he grows into over the next few years. Am I crazy to not return it and get this?
Was excited to be done with Christmas shopping but now I'm uncertain.

Why buy 4000 series at this point?
Why not 5000 series are going to be more expensive and maybe won't offer that much improvement

Techpowerup has the 7900GRE at roughly 15% better overall relative performance than a base 4070. This deal is not a 4070 Super which is also trailing the GRE by 2% on Techpowerup.
Relative to the GRE, this deal is trash tier. 4070 is extremely weak for this price.

I'm confused. It says Ryzen 7700 at 4.5hz. Isn't that the 7700x? My 7700 is at 3.8mhz base. Additionally is it the base 4070 and not the super? I'm kinda surprised to see base 4070s. Has anyone bought and received this and can confirm the hardware?

GRE has higher raw performance but nvidia has better features and dlss which puts 4070 on top in most games

I pulled the trigger on this. For the price it's going to be hard to beat building on my own. With it being an AM5 board will be able to upgrade the cpu at some point

It's just not worth it to me. If it had 32 GB RAM, it would be more interesting. I wouldn't pay this much and then have to pay even more to get the memory upgraded. The storage is also less than the previous deal mentioned.
What's another set of 2x8 like $35?

Eww return that for this if you can.

Roblox used to run fine on integrated graphics but that's not the case anymore, some of the games have pretty nice graphics nowadays. Not that a 4060 isn't good enough but this is a much better deal.

Are these applied automatically if you use paypal to checkout and a chase card while in paypal? I'm logged in but don't really see anything showing this on my end.
Activate 5% on PayPal in reward section and activate 5% quarterly cash back on chase. then you are good to go

Better specs.

But the deal in this thread is pretty solid too, just not as good as the other one.

It's a deal that expired recently that blew up on Slickdeals about a week ago. It was arguably one of the best computer deals of the year. Offer had insane value with very little premium overhead considering it was a prebuilt. It was basically this deal but had more storage, RAM, and a similar, arguably a better graphics card (7900GRE) for $999.

That computer sold out in like 2-3 days.

Try not to worry about that too much though. That was a unicorn event where the lucky few got a truly Slick Deal. This is still a solid deal more in line with usual sale expectations.
