Since nobody has answered you yet, ask the Facebook headphone group. They are awesome. I have several pairs of AKGs, Hifiman, Sennheiser, Grado, Fidelio etc and that group is super helpful. I haven't tried these ones though. Sorry

Would you mind sharing the link to the FB group please? I'd love to a part of that community.
I would like a pair but I believe the design of the "letter C" is going to pinch too much. I am looking for more of a "letter U". I can wear my 15 year-old letter U designs all day and not feel discomfort anywhere. But for me, all letter C designs are absurdly tight and not designed for human heads. Just look at the pinching of these, they have a 1/8 gap between the pads at rest, you have to exert quite a bit of pulling just to stretch them far enough to put on.
I just placed an order for a pair of black AKG N9 Hybrid. The price on the sight shows $399 as of 12/14/2024. Upon selecting the item into my cart the price changed to $232. I thought about it for a day and drove around town trying on different headphones. Then on 12/15/2024 I cleared my cart on the Harmon site. Now it is 12/15/2024, the site now showed the price of $299. I placed the item in my cart. It showed $232. I put in my info and clicked process payment. I get an email from Harman:
"Order Cancelled
Thank you for your recent order with us. Unfortunately, your order has been cancelled. Your account has not been charged. Any pending holds on your payment method should be released within 5-7 business days.
There are many reasons why an order may be cancelled (customer request, item no longer in stock, mismatched shipping/billing address, invalid verification code, credit card discrepancies, etc). For additional information, please contact our Customer Service team."

After Samsung bought them, their pricing behavior got like this.

That's a bummer, I'm sorry.
FWIW, check out the Sennheiser Momentum M4s. There's a SD on those for $188 on Amazon for black and $199 for Denim/blue, which is what I ended up getting.
I ordered a brand new pair at my local Best Buy. Upon pick-up, noticed that the seal was broken/box had been previously opened. Everything looked intact and brand new. The supervisor was gracious enough to mark it as a "fair" condition open-box item. i was able to get them for $176 out the door.
From my research and comparison, the Sennheiser Momentum M4s are far better in almost every aspect than these AKG.
I'm coming from Bose QC 35s, which I absolutely love but the sound quality on these M4s are by far the best!
