I did this, but after the 6th code and 2nd order in 2 weeks I got banned from Instacart for suspicious activity. Instacart upheld their ban on me even with selfie/id proof. $1k in gift cards was apparently very suspicious activity. The customer service in Instacart seems to be completely based in India; they don't really understand English.

I still had $400 in Instacart credits locked up in the account, so I had to keep escalating with Costco to force Instacart to unban me. That took 1 week to resolve but they were able to do it on my behalf.

Just an anecdote, but didn't realize the risk of having Instacart gift cards tied to the account as opposed to normal gift cards was. If it weren't for Costco customer service, I would have been out $320 from the Instacart ban.
Remember, costco also sells $100 instacart giftcard for $79.99 online which can be used on Same Day Delivery. Extra savings!
If one purchases the $80 Instacart gift card value at 100 and then applies the above promo this is essentially $100 in value for the price of $56 which would cover more than inflated prices and tip if you choose your items wisely - or even if you didn't as long as you try to get close to total price at checkout of $100 (unsure if $100 purchase requirement is pre- or can be post-tax - credit card deals allow post-tax total eg)

EDIT: requirement is $100+ pre-tax
Purchased the Mona Lisa and Harry Potter Mandrake Lego sets as gifts which came to just under $100 and it didn't appear to apply so I added bananas to get over $100

Utilizing a 2nd $100 Instacart gift card for $80 would eg bring a 10th gen iPad costing $255 to an effective out of pocket cost of $185

Side note: if you decide to buy $130 of total goods then you apply the $30 promo then your effective discount becomes out-of-pocket cost of $80 (effective cost of 61.5 cents per dollar) if you spend all hundred dollars of the gift card - but if you purchase $100 in goods only and then apply the $30 coupon then your effective discount is the $56 for $100 - really insignificant point in case people don't realize they will have $30 left on their gift card but that is to get the highest discount possible minus the in-app item sales

So I already have Instacart+, but it wouldn't allow me to login to my existing account and made me start a new paid trial (free for one month) for a premium account…. I contacted Instacart and they said Costco and other retailers handle Instacart separately and I can't link in to my existing account. This seems bizarre to me. Did anyone else experience this?

If I already pay for Instacart why should I have to sign up and pay for a new account to be able to use it for Costco?

You absolutely can link it to your same day costco account in your profile. There is a choice to do that but if they gave you a free trial just use that and cancel when over, then link your account

No response received. Mad I guess I will wait for it to post on my credit card and dispute if necessary if not fixed before then.

My Costco Same-Day online purchase price shows the $30 discount in the final price, but after my item was delivered, the online receipt does not show the $30 discount reflected, so I'm being charged full price. Is this happening for anyone else?

You should get email showing 30 discount. My total was 120 -30. I went to store and got a physical card. I didn't know you could by them with 20 discount. Also, should show before checking out. Shows the discount in red -30. Mine disappeared for about 10 minutes and came back. Then I checked out quickly.

They won't let you on the same account. It says it right under the GC description. 2 per day. You gotta wait till Sunday, or get married and have her buy 2. I don't know if they have discounted physical cards in store. I haven't seen them, but I guess it's possible. Post an update if it works out.
My local store does not have discounted Instacart gift cards and has not for weeks now. Buying online it says 2 per person in a 14 day period. By the way this deal is expired already.

I spoke to customer service, here is the 'explanation' I received. The promo discount was removed from my order due to the order total being below $100 at one point, despite the final order total still exceeding $100. This was caused by refunding on out of stock items and additional items being added.
so, $100 -> $150 -> 120, discount applies.
$100 -> $80 -> $120, discount removed.
The sequence of actions makes a difference. The order total falls below $100 at any given time, the discount falls off and does NOT come back even if your final order total exceeds $100. The Customer service refused to offer a resolution on this and could not point me to the terms and conditions which backup his/her statement. I am fighting over this to have it resolved. This is the most nonsense and ridiculous explanation coming from a customer service rep I have ever had. If they refuse to honor this promo discount, this could very well be my last instacart experience and a potential credit card dispute.

Sounds about right for Instacart's level of customer service unfortunately
