Part of my brain says buy this or a bigger one to have "just in case" - that's right my brain puts thoughts into parentheses. The other part says "It will just sit there for years and be bad when you need it, remember that gas generator that wont start" Thank God I realized that if I wait for those 2 to finish arguing I can go back to my regular scheduled day.

I don't see any information about the solar panels this comes with. Anyone know what size they are?

Edit: I misinterpreted what they mean by saying "solar power generator". It is just capable of being charged with solar but doesn't come with solar.

This is an extremely reliable Jackery model that has been around for a long time.
The 500 cycle count before battery lifespan reduces to 80%, is based on 1C charging/discharging.

In real world usage for something like this, you aren't discharging at 1C seeing how the unit isn't even capable of sustained 300W output. And the charger it comes with, is a 60W charger, so it's not being charged at 1C either.

The 500 cycle count to 80% life, is more likely 1500-2000 cycles

I would much rather have this tried and true Jackery model that's been around for many years, than an EcoFlow River piece of garbage

I had a first gen 1000 die in three years under light use. They couldn't give me a discount to replace that got it lower than Black Friday prices, so screw them, i built my own bigger LifePO4 version in a Pelican case

Care to share a parts listWink?

If like to build my mother-in-law a backup gen which wouldn't cost a fortune since there's no way I'd trust her to try using any kind of gas generator.

Thanks!

I'm cheating a little, as it's both a power module for travel trailer and backup power, but:

Renogy 3000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter 12V DC to 120V AC Converter for Home, RV, Truck, Off-Grid Solar... [a.co]
Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery Group 24 Lithium Battery, Built-in 100A BMS, Max.20.48kWh, 4000+ Deep Cycles, Born for All RV, Van, Truck, Camper, Solar Power Storage, Off-Grid

2X Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery Group 24 Lithium Battery, Built-in 100A BMS, Max.20.48kWh, 4000+ De... [a.co]

2X TOPDC 4 AWG Battery Cable 4AWG 24-Inch Battery Inverter Cables Set All Copper Conductor Wire with 3/... [a.co]

I have a 55W converter in the trailer already, to charge the batteries, and added solar panels, so got this Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT Solar Charge Controller (Bluetooth) [a.co]

For non-solar use, get this instead, should charge both batteries in about 4 hours (you can go bigger, to charge faster):

RecPro RV Converter 45 Amp | RV Power Converter & Battery Charger | 4 Stage Smart Charging | 120VAC ... [a.co]

I tried to find a decent one with a power cord permanently attached but couldn't, so you'd need to add one (you can get a longer one if needed):

6ft 16 Gauge 3 Prong Heavy Duty Replacement Power Supply Cord Cable 110V 115V 120V Pigtail for Unive... [a.co]

I just leave the top of the case ajar to access plugs and allow for exhaust fans to work, but you can get fancy and buy weather proof vent panels and cable glands to add to the case:

https://www.newark.com/multicomp-...p/77AK3385

But this is a pretty beefy system at about $1000. For running an extension cord to a fridge or two, for a day or so or so, you can drop to one battery, and use a smaller 1000W inverter and a smaller case for about $600, which is about what a comparable Jackery costs. I just don't trust Jackery anymore.

You'll be the only one then.
This is 2024. No reason to buy anything but Lifepo4.
You can get an Oupes 600 for $119 with 600w/256wh or
Pecron E600 @ $151 with 600w/288wh and wifi/BT connection.
Why settle for an inferior product that's only capable of running @ 200w ??

Jackery is trusted and well known in the industry. American company with US-based support. I would gladly take a lithium ion power station made by Jackery over any Chinese piece of junk made by either of the companies you are propping up on a pedestal
