Earlier this year I able to find a couple such dealers for the model of car I was after, but I'm pretty sure it's because it'd been sitting on the lot for nearly two years and they wanted to move it ASAP. If I'd been going after something current year model and/or in demand my luck probably wouldn't have been nearly as good.

Can't wait for more zero-dealer EV manufacturers to come online (Telo, Scout) and for existing manufacturers to expand their model lineups to cover the gaps (Rivian, Lucid).

How about you don't put customers through the whole process of trying to upsell them on packages they don't need? Or trying ripping them off with cars that are way over MSRP?

Can anyone who did this process explain how it works? I show up at the dealership and give them the pin/offer code and test drive and then what? They email the card a couple days later? Just want to know if there is some way to confirm the test drive, I have very little trust in anybody who works in a dealership.

Yeah huh… YMMV on the attitude of the dealership. When I did these years ago there were sticklers who refused to sign off unless you test drove, then did the same if you didn't have them evaluate the trade, then did the same if you didn't go multiple rounds on the offer, then did not sign when you didn't not buy the car.

I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for dealerships. When mass market dealership EVs (ID5, EV6, Ioniq..etc) first hit the market dealerships in Charlotte where adding on tons of unneeded items…nitrogen in the tires, tinted windows, EV chargers, wheel locks, LowJack..etc. Which added $3-4k+ to the vehicle for noooo reason. There was no way of getting these items removed. Even if I custom order one from VW or Hyundai the minute they hit the dealership those were added on before final signing and I could take it or leave it.

Next the pandemic rolled around and they were adding $8-10k "market adjustments" because they could. I will gladly waste as much time as I can at any dealership. They know what they are doing and I know what I can do to help out Wink

So dealer can just tell you to pound sand? sounds like the typical dealership experience, not sure if this is worth the time anymore lol
