Fyi, there are various compatibility issues for the android model. It states it's compatible with Android 12 and newer, but buried it says there are several (popular) chipsets that have various issues. I have experienced those issues with my Pixel 7 and 8 Pro.l and can no longer use it.
I bought this for personal use to check my home yearly. I found the resolution really disappointing. Topdon sells at a similar price point without the deal but with much better specs imo. With the deal it's more reasonable but I wouldn't prefer it.
No it's not good for people in the woods.
This along with all phone thermal units are designed for <10ft only. They use different sensors than those cheap hunting units that designed for detecting thermal signals further out.
Different products different purpose. These are great for electricians and professional users conducting inspections but NOT for hunting or surveillance.

Might want to add that it is the same price for the USB-C model.

Good luck!

and if someone is thinking "I can just get over the resolution, I don't want to deal with some cheap no name device", this thing feels like a cheap no name device to me. The app often believe that the device was not plugged in.

I bought this device a few years ago for $179, and it's really helped with discovering drafts and if blown insulation has shifted in my house. It was well worth it as I think I've save money from heating bills. Yes, the resolution is not great, but what do I care? I just want to know where the drafts are!

maybe a good thing people aren't using thermal optics found on SD for hunting 🤣

What did you use it for at your home? Im looking at this to find out where the drafts are.
Do we really need that detailed resolution?
This is $150 vs topdon which is $230 (looking at Android versions)

They don't seem to have a product supporting iPhone 15/16 series?

This is best used for detecting leaks inside walls before they turn into moldy nightmares!

Wouldn't it be better to get an app for your phone? It's about the same price and I would assume it includes updates.
...how is an app going to add thermal imaging to your phone?!
