I bundled this deal with their current promo on 15% off $100+ gift cards. So, I got this bond collection for $85.

I once sold all these bond movies back to Microsoft for $5. Although they were twisting my arm.

Honestly, $100 with a single-system lock-in when you have double-dips is just ridiculous. Neither fandango or apple does a "complete your collection" (like iTunes 'complete your album') to let you pick up the gaps prorated.

Yes, $4/movie is generally a good price, but way too many dogs in the list . . .

Oh man that's tempting and a decent deal but they always have it on Amazon prime, And I still have the Blu-ray version unopened.
Keep in mind this is digital 4K UHD!
It's inferior to disc especially on the audio side.
Some of these don't even have an audio upgrade.
If you have a good 4k player you won't miss much especially for $99 imo!!!!

Almost all 4k has a form of HDR.

Anyone know if the Apple TV versions have the same audio formats as Fandango? Apple is not listing them, but I use Apple for most of my movies and it has the iTunes extras. Does anyone know if the extras come with the purchase at fandango

Yes. Seems an identical list though, since the Apple deal didn't include Never Say Never Again either.
Never Say Never Again isn't usually included. It was an offshoot production made outside of eon. They were originally going to make a new set of Bond films with Connery. It's an interesting history to read about.

If you don't own the file, it's just a license. You're beholden to Apple and can't guarantee that you'll be able to watch these movies in 30 years. Change my mind.

Movie ownership is history.

Crazy how companies don't prorate purchases when you already own some of the bundle (or all in another resolution)

Also crazy that we're spending all this money on this stuff that we won't even be legally allowed to pass down to our children when we die.
Yeah, they really need to provide prorates.

I already own the 4k Sean Connery collection and 3 of the Craig movies in 4k. $100 is a good deal if you don't own any already, but not sure it's worth it for the remaining titles, especially since most of them are lackluster (I'd probably only really care for the Lazenby film, Goldeneye, and a couple Moore titles).

Yeah, it's not technically an official James Bond movie in the canon. It was also essentially a remake of Thunderball. It's never included in any collections because it's not under the same licensing as the EON movies. I'm not sure if MGM even owns the rights to distribute it?

It's worth noting the Microsoft collection was HD, not 4k.

Same thing happened to me though, lol.

Saw this yesterday as the deal of the day. $4 a movie and UHD 4k. I wonder how a 1962 movie would look like in UHD 4K.
Not an expert but the short answer is it depends. The team involved in doing the transfers to higher resolution make choices regarding amount of grain kept, aspect ratio, color of scenes, etc etc that affect the final result. Some transfers or scans of the analog film are better than others.

There's so much great content on so many platforms, why would anyone buy some old movies other than just because it's on sale, or want to own (hoard) stuff they'll never use?

We watched Dr. No last night. It was filmed in 1962 and looked surprisingly great, and I was not expecting it to look that good. Good deal at $4 a movie but I paid with my 20% off GC so $80 so $3.20 a movie.
