I've had good experiences with La Crosse weather stations.
This is just temperature though, so it's definitely trying to hook you into buying more
in my experience buying a full set. together is much more cost effective than individually.

I had one and it failed, they sent another, it failed. I ended up just ordering a tempest one from Amazon and 3 years later no issues

I've had 2 in 10yrs. One for home, the other in my RV. My one for home still works like a champ. The temp sensor for the one in my rv just recently bit the dust. Not surprised as the sensor is mounted underneath and exposed to road spray (including salt a few time). Bought a new system from Sam's recently as the sensors are nearly the price as a whole system (especially if purchased on sale).

Costco used to sell these every year (or a very similar model) but stopped doing so in the last 3-4 years. I was disappointed because I bought a few of them. They are kinda cool.

My Costco one is also still working, but I do not keep the display lite all of the time. One of my sensors went out. I cleaned it up and put batteries in it and nothing ... bummer. I contacted the manufacture and yes the sensors are very expensive. Tried the sensor a few days later and there was magic, it works again. It has been working again for over 3 years. I keep on downstairs so I can see if the up and downstairs temperature is vastly different as the upstairs is always warmer than the downstairs.

I have the version that doesn't have humidity for outside detection. It stopped turning on after the one year mark and the warranty only covers a year. While it worked, it was very useful and I wanted to outdoor humidity feature. I'm a little worried this won't last long either though.

If you have one: May I ask- how tall are the time digits (inches, or mm)? I need a clock that I can read from far away (at least .75" or 19mm tall).

Doesn't seem accurate from reviews, I guess if you want an alarm clock then mabe.
Doesn't seem like it has a 5-day forecast or any other info future weather info. Would be nice if it was Alexa or voice activated.

Am I missing something...Tempest Weather Station $339 [amazon.com], this one $29. I get the longevity of your experience with the tempest one, but struggling to see how these compare. I have an older version of the Lacrosse one and after several years does well enough. I think we paid the under $30 for it as well. We use it just to get a guage of the weather of the day and outside temp, so maybe the Tempest one offers more than I actually need.

I had 2 weather stations that both failed work to consistently to receive outside sensor info and another unit that only detects outside temp occasionally. Thought it was the sensor placement so I moved it around without success. Switched to a different brand off amazon UNNI and problem solved. I don't use any Lacross stuff anymore...

A Tempest weather station is around $350? Can't really compare that to a $30 Lacrosse station.

I've had a Lacrosse station that looks similar to this one for around 10 years now. Still works well. I like that you can calibrate the temperature and pressure if it's off. Not sure if this model still has that capability.

I had one, still have it. Bought it over 2 years ago. works fine. I had to replace the batteries on the remote temperature sender every year after the first cold snap.
