If you let your game pass subscription expire, then stack Core this way before using a 1-month Ultimate code to convert, 12 months Core will convert to 6 months Ultimate, so ~$4/month.
If you use this to extend a currently active Ultimate subscription, 12 months Core will convert to just under 4 months, so ~$6/month.

If you're like me and want to get the longest GPU subscription in one transaction (because who knows what pricing will be in a couple years time, or whether conversion rates will change yet again, buy a couple years of EA Play (for Xbox, not PC), I paid about $52 for 2 12 month cards, so my conversion on November 16th this year was 36 months Core (India) ~$55 (I bought back in June when 6 month codes were available for $9.32), along with 2 years of EA Play Xbox $53, which you can dual stack because EA Play isn't part of Core. The math, for a user without an active GPU sub when redeeming those codes, is Core = 2:1, so 18 months of GPU, plus EA Play 3:1, so an additional 8 months (looking at this now, not sure why I didn't buy 3 years of EA Play, since that would have given me 12 months).
