This isn't a bad deal and I'll probably buy a few to keep my subscription topped off, but nothing will ever top the old workarounds before Microsoft closed the loophole.

Also confirmed it is stackable and Microsoft gave me a free month for turning on reoccurring billing which I turned off immediately after. Bought 3 for 9 months and I got 10 months total for $71.56 which is $7.95 per month or $7.15 a month because of the free month. Thanks OP

One of the codes I bought gave me an error "Sorry, an unexpected error has occurred. The error has been recorded and we will investigate. Please try to redeem your code later." It's been happening for the past hour trying to redeem. Any suggestions?

If you let your game pass subscription expire, then stack Core this way before using a 1-month Ultimate code to convert, 12 months Core will convert to 6 months Ultimate, so ~$4/month.

If you use this to extend a currently active Ultimate subscription, 12 months Core will convert to just under 4 months, so ~$6/month.

If you look at the thread in Reddit's XboxGamePass, it seems people have had issue with redeeming Indian keys since Dec 1st. was able to convert without issue on November 15th or so, but the thread is full of people saying it isn't letting them add Indian codes to a US account, even with VPN. It could just be an issue with one of the free VPNs. One user posted a screenshot showing UrbanVPN hadn't worked, a couple others said it hadn't worked but didn't state which VPNs they used, or if they tried more than one VPN service, while someone a couple days ago said it had worked with PIA VPN, so who knows.

If you're like me and want to get the longest GPU subscription in one transaction (because who knows what pricing will be in a couple years time, or whether conversion rates will change yet again, buy a couple years of EA Play (for Xbox, not PC), I paid about $52 for 2 12 month cards, so my conversion on November 16th this year was 36 months Core (India) ~$55 (I bought back in June when 6 month codes were available for $9.32), along with 2 years of EA Play Xbox $53, which you can dual stack because EA Play isn't part of Core. The math, for a user without an active GPU sub when redeeming those codes, is Core = 2:1, so 18 months of GPU, plus EA Play 3:1, so an additional 8 months (looking at this now, not sure why I didn't buy 3 years of EA Play, since that would have given me 12 months).

Oh interesting, I didn't see that. I was able to stack 3 years of Core from India then convert on my US account just last week, so I guess we were fortunate. They're definitely cracking down more on VPN trick, wouldn't be surprised if they ban it completely someday.

I think it's probably still working, just not with certain (free?) VPNs. I originally started replying to you to mention that you can dual stack EA Play, which converts at 3 years to 1 year, but before clicking submit I went to reddit to double check the conversion, and most of the recent posts were saying it didn't work since Dec 1, so I deleted everything I'd written. I've now edited my post so that it's more of an "exercise caution" than "this no longer works". I hope it still works as I bought a freind 3 years of Core back in June and his current sub isn't up until June 2025!
