Your not legally allowed to transport refilled cylinders, as they're not rated for that. For safety and legal purposes you might want to buy reusable tanks rated for being refilled. They're a bit expensive, but they do occasionally go on sale.

They also sell kits with everything you need to do it, including the bottle, connector, and stand.

Well, putting yourself "at risk" is much different than some third party.

The delivery drivers cant be expected to be trained/certified in the transport of all hazardous materials.

If you go boom it's on all you.

Just sayin.

You'd be better off getting a refill nozzle and refilling from your bigger tank. Just need the nozzle and obviously have to have some empty small bottles

Hilarious that you can pick it up but someone else can't, I certainly don't have a hazmat license

Went with refillable tanks myself. The investment paid for itself quickly after several fills from my 20lb tank

Yep, this is only about five dollars worth of propane

Propane is a hazardous material and requires specific safety measures and equipment for transport and delivery. All retail stores must comply with safety regulations to ensure safe handling and transport.
I am DOT, Hazwoper, and RCRA trained (have certifications). It's funny that they won't deliver but the average Joe can transport in their vehicle.

I would check with your local hazardous household facilities. A lot of them have swap shops. Our facility was filled with these unused propane cylinders that people dropped off.

These will be banned in 2028 in California.
They used to be this price regularly, but with COVID they jumped to$8+ per cylinder.
Only single use canisters will be banned, but you will still be able to buy 1 lb. reusable canisters.

Cost-wise, that is cheaper but these are convenient. I don't mind the single use ones being banned though.

I think I might do the same. I already have several 20lb. tanks that I keep filled and it will be much less wasteful.

This is a good deal. They're 9 available at the local wallys near me.

However, i also prefer to refill myself. Absolute inherent risk involved. But i squeeze about 1.1-1.2lbs in each tank by putting the tank in the freezer for a couple minute beforehand, and blipping the bleeder with needle nose pliers. That makes each green tank about $0.85-$1to refill/overfill.

Check out Steves Small Engine Saloon video for a comprehensive tutorial on refilling there.

All said, this is a solid deal if you dont want to go through that

Nice find OP!

Buy a pack of 4 . When #1 empties refill it while you use #2 . It's so much cheaper to just refill . Same convenience less moola

For anyone that sees this . Keep checking . I was one of the first to see it and comment . At that time it was like $32 from a third party seller. No options for pickup at any local store.

Just checked again and local stores now available . My store has 9 left in stock

Hoping pickup isn't a pain in the ass. Walmart is always a gamble.

I know you can refill for cheaper. But this price is good and gives me a couple on hand. I don't use them enough to warrant the effort to refill or buy some flame kings.

In for 4 sets to keep extras stocked in my hunting blinds. $8.79 a cylinder at my local shop. I have a refill nozzle, but that doesn't do a lick of good when it's -5° out and you're half a mile walk up steep Appalachian hills to get back to the barn to fill.

At this price I don't mind keeping them on hand!
