This was $100 at Murdoch last week. And even at that price it was barely worth it. That saw is junk. If you're a very tight budget; just get a corded makita. This thing is useless

If this was the brushless XR version, then maybe this would be a deal, maybe! But I agree with the other posters, this saw is junk!

Not useless. I've been a carpenter for 20 years. Depending on your application this saw is fine and will do most of what you want a circular saw to do. No, it's not a worm drive and doesn't have as much power. But these are plenty good enough. Although this is not a good price.

Ancient brushed tool. You should not be buying brushed tools in 2024. I would go with a sub brand's brushless tools before buying this.

Good video and pros/cons on this and it's brushless counterpart. I think for the diy-er that doesn't do daily work, the 391 one is more than fine.

People saying this saw is old and won't cut don't know what they're talking about. I've cut countless 2x4s, 2x6s and 4x4s, plywood, edge glued panels, etc with this. It's more powerful than their brushless per reviews, it just uses a little more battery life (with a 5a it still will work for a lot of cuts, just be smart about it). Since batteries are so pricey, it's a decent deal, I bought the baretool years ago from amazon, it's almost always under $100, so up to you if the $50 is worth the battery and charger. It's a strong tool that would last the average homeowner probably longer than the battery lifespan is, I've dropped it countless times, hell I even put on a diamond blade and cut dozens of linear ft of concrete both wet and dry.
