This seems to be the old version of the game. They removed this version from sale digitally (as well as the DLC for it) when they re-released it as Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance which include various improvements and additional content.

And also released on current gen platforms.

It was also on sale for $30 recently for Switch. If you can keep an eye out for that price again, then go for that version.

Not much point in buying over SMT V: Vengeance.

I hear the game's NG+ mode sucks, to boot, so playing through the vanilla version first won't meaningfully help you fast-track through Vengeance.

We all agree that we love Atlus, Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, etc etc etc.

But they REALLY need to reel it in with the re-releases, Royale editions, blah blah blah. They are becoming one of the most egregious offenders with this, and it's hard as a consumer to want to invest in anything the do when 6 months later an updated version is on the way.

I loved it. I have Vengeance, too, but it's more like a DLC than a different game.

Can't argue with that. I don't understand removing the DLC for this as it sort of screws over people who bought the original version but may have looked to pick it up later. Taking away options is never a good thing and it seems kind of anti-consumer on their part
