If I were you I would just keep it the m1 pro rig you have is quite fast and powerful. If it suits your needs then this machine isn't really offering anything stupidly better. I'm going to wait until they flush out AI more and then see if it makes sense to upgrade.

Can you confirm? I was going to buy at $1399 but will hold off and wait if $1299 is an option
So far so good, the best decision ever over MBA M3 16/512 even if cost a couple $ more.
Screen. Battery, ports, card reader - hands down.

I use Windows, and Apple products, it is just that I am not a stupid fan of anything.

Everyone knows Apple charges ridiculous prices to upgrade storage and RAM. No need to keep harping on it and reminding people, but trolls and haters always chime in with their stupidity in every popular Apple thread on Slickdeals.
If you want/need more RAM and storage, then spend more money on it. Don't buy an Apple product and expect to get the equivalent amount of RAM and storage at Windows laptop prices. You're paying more for top tier build quality, Apple's ecosystem, the Apple brand name, and the best resell & trade-in value of any electronic device.

I own Apple products, and I agree on quality, but then again lots of other brands are also coming up with the same quality product, my Lenovo Carbon X1 from 2018 still running fine, and so is my Apple MacBook Pro. The point is paying for something exceptional good is fine, paying for something that isn't exceptional just being stupid is another thing: good day, and Happy Holidays.
Regarding trolls and haters, show me one deal where everyone is happy and not being trolled or hate comments.

Would this be a better/faster machine? With less ram!?
M1 with 32/1TB is overall a better machine for most task
