Pretty close to the $10/AH rule of thumb for a slick deal (which I haven't seen in the past year really)

then you're clearly not looking. 2x 5x batteries with charger for $100: https://www.fastenersinc.net/coll...attery-kit. it was $90 3 weeks ago.
4ah+6ah bundle with charge is $95 at home depot

there were plenty of sales for 5ah batteries at $50 each this year. i picked up 8ah powerpacks for $75 a pop.

Make sure which version of the battery is sitting in your locker for pickup Ordered this and my local Lowes (44116) and they found NOS and put the previous version of the batteries (Blister packed and extremely large and heavy) dated 2023 in my pickup locker. Walked down to the power tool area and complained about the the 2023 date. Got the smaller boxed 3AH batteries for the same price.

There is a value in compact batteries. As an average DIYer, I don't prefer bulky batteries. Sure when I am ripping boards with my circular saw, a bigger battery makes a difference but I like the compact batteries for all other DeWalt tools I have. Also newer 3ah batteries are the same size as a 5ah and I think this uses larger battery cells, thus amp output is somewhere between those 1.7-2ah and 5ah. Unless I can find a compact powerstack with $10/ah, this is a good compromise. Thanks OP!
