These give a bit more protection than the walker active muffs, but you'll still want to double up with foam plugs if shooting indoors.

They're well built though, and fold up nicely. Think I paid $20 for mine last year and it was money well spent.

Works well for anything loud, but the default pads are a bit of a pain to clean.

I have yet to come across any active earmuff that come anywhere close on sound reduction to cheap 3m peltor (passive)
I shoot an AR indoors with the active version of these. If there's something better that allows me to have a conversation with whomever I'm with and reduces that much sound, direct me to them chief.

already been said but slim muffs are not enough to be used alone indoors.

howard leight impact pro.

you will get hearing damage over time using NRR 23 muffs with a rifle indoors.

Molded ear plugs under your active are the ticket.

Some of the razor slim electronic models were $30 a couple weeks ago. It's worth the extra $15 to be able to listen to music with a cable, even when doubled up with foamies

I just bought these a few days ago and used them for dove hunting yesterday. Excellent comfort and sound reduction. These are great for the price. If you shoot indoors then just double up with some cheap foam ear plugs too. Definitely not needed if you're shooting outside though with these on.

I highly suggest taking apart the ear cups, cutting up foam earplugs into tiny pieces, and stuffing them as tightly as you can inside the ear cups, then closing it back up.

I did so for both my Peltor 500s and Walkers and it substantially reduced the noise even more. It feels like you've tripled up, if you have foam ear plugs, the ear muffs with the mod.

Exactly. I was surprised when I saw a big hollow chamber (on my Howard Leights, plus others) when I took off the plastic ear plate while installing the much nicer ProHear earpads. They manufacture most muffs with nothing at all between inner shell and outer shell to 'absorb' any sound. I did the same with bunch of tiny cut pieces of foam and it made a significant difference.
