Note: Ubisoft brought this back from delistment, at a price... all the original licensed songs in the base game were stripped out and replaced with selected DLC they still have rights to.

Owners of the original before it delisted still have the game with all the old licensed songs.

They're doing this because they're probably desperate and need to make some more revenue somehow.

If you are at all on the fence, just get this. If you dig deep enough (CS.RIN.RU), you can grab all the DLC including delisted. If you head over to CustomsForge, you can have all your non-piracy questions answered, and download about 50,000 custom DLC songs (!!!) that others like you have made, and even learn how to make your own. Note that about 35,000 of those customs are terrible, but that leaves a lot for bass and or guitar.

Rocksmith+ was ignored by 99% of the huge Rocksmith 2014 Remastered fans because we did not want a shitty subscription model or be limited in any way as to what songs we could add ourselves. Rocksmith+ will never be fixed as the licensing cannot be changed now. Ubisoft ruined the franchise with one very dumb move. But RS2014 Remastered is a great today as it was when it was released and just about every rock and metal song you'd want to play is available if you know where to look.

$3 for a ticket to all that is the bargain of the year. And do go get the Rocksmith cable. It makes a decent USB interface for recording your guitar into your daw (I've used it for a decade in that way). It's worth the price.

they remastered this as a monthly subscription service called "RockSmith+" and it absolutely bombed. it was fine, just nobody was interested in a monthly subscription service

Are there any mods to add them back in?

Licenses agreements run out on these older games. Rocksmith doesnt have the IP rights to keep selling the product with those songs.
Blame the RIAA and other interest groups for these licensing problems….never impacts movies/TV cuz they are the same devil. Im not happy about it but have had it since 2014 snd this really is still one of the best guitar teaching programs out there. Only other real options are online monthly subs which are not as good.

I bought this when it first came out on Xbox and it was great, bought it on steam and every single time I tried to play Ubisoft would tell me I had to do their BS drm, which never worked since there was some type of glitch. I ended up pirating along with the DLC and never been happier.

Similar experience, Ubisoft DRM is garbage. Own two legit copies but similarly had to sail the seas, firewalled the program and just use CDLC for a much better experience.

That's probably why the OP says:

You CAN play this without the rocksmith tone cable, but it can be a big pain to setup (and is YMMV depending on your hardware). I play it through a focusrite scarlett audio interface.

It sucked to set up (lots of googling, and testing different .ini settings etc), but now it works, and with less latency than with the rocksmith cable (which I also use on a different computer (my HTPC).

Well, sure. There are lots of ways to make the connection, I was just pointing out that the OP already stated that you'd need an "adapter" to connect to the PC (as stated by the person to whom I originally replied).

I can buy any DLCs for CDLC? For example, the discounted ones like "Rocksmith Easy Exercises, Vol. 1" is fine?

Be aware that the DRM will not allow you to use your own Guitar to USB adapter.

You can only use your own adapter if you download a cracked version.
