Staples randomly marks game stuff way down. So I look whenever in one.
Switch lite was just $150
Got a PSVR last year for $180
Now I'm in Illinois at the inlaws playing Vampire Survivors on my PS5 in California and I'm so glad I got it. Pretty amazing, especially since the IL Internet isn't great.

I got one full price back in Jan. It was very meh back then, as in performing like crap (extreme frame drops from 60 fos to sub 30 fps, and resolution issues all the time), worse than using my phone with a controller.
But fast forward, sometime in the past few months, it got way better. Now I can comfortably use it for single player games. I do play on this more than on the TV nowadays.
Apparently the frame hiccups have been resolved. I would totally jump on this if I didn't already have a Steamdeck
But you do need the highest subscription level of PS+ ($160 USD/yr).
While this is cheaper than buying a PS5 of whatever edition new, you might not consider it really "budget", especially after you factor that in as a yearly recurring cost. If you can find a portal at $130, that's $290 for year (or what, about $300 after tax on the portal?)
Also, if you get the highest subscription level of PS+, if you have a PC and a game controller already, then you can cloud stream to the PC and not need to buy a PS Portal. Though I believe the selection on the PC may be more limited than the PS cloud streaming. But that would be even more "budget" than buying a PS Portal.
