But be aware many of the 5 Star reviews are labeled that it was part of a promotion I.e free item. Those tend to be more bias toward 5 stars.

I've always considered an adjustable wrench to be a nut-rounder, knuckle buster, or as a good substitute for a hammer if there isn't one within arm's reach. But maybe I've never actually used one of the good ones.

They're generally inferior in almost every respect, except convenience. If you don't have an assortment of six sided wrenches, they're a pretty solid choice to save space and $. For plumbing, they're also pretty useful. They're great for putting into a tool set for your kitchen or keeping in the car.

Klein makes them, but the ones I have seen are not made in the US, always Taiwan. Channellock is exporting some production as well and has some made in Spain. Milwaukee makes some US made pliers and screwdrivers but as far as I have seen no adjustable wrench.

I just said Klein makes some here in the US. They're spud adjustables, and torque test channel just showed one to be a really good adjustable.

Chanel lock has never made theirs here. They were always made in Spain.

If I am to get one 7 inch wrench for general household use, should I get one chanel lock wrench or Knipex plier wrench?

Knipex pliers wrench has glowing praise from all over the Internet. Smooth surface and "self tightening" design means it squeezes the nut harder when you turn, preventing rounding off. I'm not a handyman but another really handy feature is the ability in tight spaces to open the handles to loosen just enough to move your pliers after turning the nut, get to your new position on the nut, and just squeeze again to tighten up and keep cranking. With an adjustable wrench, you have to fiddle with the knurl/thumb screw to do that.

I only use an adjustable wrench to throw at my kid when he holds the work light wrong.
