Here's another trick I used to save a few bucks on taxes: Go ahead and update your profile to a state that doesn't collect taxes (like Delaware or Oregon). Then, update your preferred theater to that city. When you renew or upgrade your membership, you won't see any tax. You can pay with your regular credit card, and you won't have to worry about the tax being added to your subscription! I hope this helps someone out there!

Seems to be the case with me as well. After checkout it said 2026. But on my amc profile, says 2027

I let my membership lapse two years ago. Went through app and got new insider membership until 1/27 (two years). Hit cancel and it asked me if I want to cancel when my membership renews 1/26 (one year) but then went online through my desktop PC and it says 1/27 will renew and also when I hit cancel it also shows do you want to cancel when it renews 1/27 (two years).

Did it twice and next billing date is Dec 1 2030. Another perk is that you don't have to wait in the regular line for concessions. Saved us about 15min on a busy night when we watched Moana 2. Pair this with the Giftory deal and you get 2 tickets, large popcorn and 2 large drinks with refills on both for $26

I take it this isn't an option for A-list memberships. I just checked and I don't have a renew option in My AMC in the app. I pay for the monthly A-list which gives me 3 free movies a week. Unless it prorated the monthly cost of the A-list membership by the 2 year discount on the annual premier membership i dont think i can take advantage of this.

I had let my stubs premiere lapse. Just resigned up. Logged out then logged back in afterwards. Renewal date changed from 2025 to 2027.

Do they upgrade the popcorn and drinks for free? According to their T&C, they won't upgrade them if you are using food/snack coupons

Doesn't only apply to renewals. Just bought it for the first time a few minutes ago and it's already updated with my next billing date in January of 2027

Just did the renewal and no refresh or cancelling needed. Originally expiring in July 2025, after renewal expiration now September 2027. Good find all let's hope it sticks. Likely just going to hang on to 2 years.

FYI I noticed you can double stack your rewards by buying through fandango and get fandango reward points AND AMC stub reward so double dipping in case anyone didn't already know this.

Prices at fandango is a little more for me than AMC app direct but minuscule compared to the rewards you get

It's certainly a possibility, but that's why I only paid the 15 once. Worst case scenario, you only save $2. I am not betting 30+ dollars that AMC survives beyond 2025...
