Bought one of these at launch, and assuming they haven't tweaked anything since.. this thing is extremely finnicky and awkward. Controls need to be placed a very specific way to touch the charging pads and the there's very little contact area so it's easy to miss.
It's definitely not just a "Throw the controllers on the stand!" system, it's a "Spend 30 seconds aligning them to make sure they're charging so your batteries aren't dead next time you go to play"
