For rental property, you need Schedule E. In the past, schedule E was included in the Deluxe version. It didn't offer a lot of guidance, but had prompts for all of the appropriate entries. The Premium version offered more guidance and questions.

HOWEVER, if I look at the list of forms for Deluxe in 2024, it does not include Schedule E! The H&R web page also suggests Premium for rentals. I hate it when a company removes things without making that really clear. I am not sure if Deluxe will be enough for rentals this year.

Will never use H&R software again. Last year they had two bugs in the software that was overtaxing me by hundreds. I ended up having to buy turbo tax and redoing the entire return. Tried getting a refund through their guarantee, but was told I'd have to email my SSN in plain text over email as part of the process, so I stopped there.

There was a link to import last years H&R Block on the 2nd or 3rd screen.

IIRC, put in the activation code but did not register,
Clicked next & the link was partway down the page.

Something like "Should I import my 2023 H&R Block info?"

There is an option to backup your return. You can do it once you finalized your return and submitted it (otherwise it does not make sense). But it is not what we're talking about. What you backup at the very end are actual returns (PDF files). You can use them later without installing anything special.
For the purpose of importing data from "last year return" you need return in their format created last year (i.e. this year you'll need T23 file, next year you'll need T24 file, etc).
You do not need to do anything special about these files. They are running version of your return and are updated every time you save your return.
The beauty of these files give is that you can create as many "what if" scenarios as you wish.

There are two e-filings: federal and state.
Federal: H&R gives you 5 free e-filings. That's what code is for.
State: $20, unless your state outlaws the e-file fee (NY, for example)
Do not mix state e-filing fee ($20) and price of additional software to prepare state return ($40). These are two completely different things.

Just my opinion, but FreeTaxUSA supports pretty much every tax situation while Cash App has a few limitations. Both work well.

Yes, they still want to charge you for state e-file. You can print and mail or, if your state supports it, file directly with the state website. Here is a list of states:
