I have a MacBook Pro and going to get this iPad Pro to use as a 2nd screen. Yes I know I can buy a cheap 2nd screen for 200 bucks but I'll also use the iPad and leave the MacBook Pro behind when I travel.

If they did the same job, sure. Personally I wish I didn't need to have both, but I do. The iPad is what i use for teaching class, running my Spark 2 amp (could use phone of course...), watching video's at the table while eating/relaxing, and Music stand for band rehearsal.

Also can't use an Apple Pencil on a macbook. I do CAD with the Pencil on my iPad Pro and it is both faster and easier than using my MBP in the same app, even with a keyboard+mouse setup.

its a nice netflix machine, better to get a used m1 for $500 on marketplace and save money since ipad os is very software limited

I got an open box / excellent condition 256gb cellular version from Best Buy last week for $1,075. Might want to keep tabs on Best Buy. Mine was essentially brand new, activated in November and never used (activated month + battery health + cycle count 0)

I use mine as a consolidation device: Streaming on airplanes, houses all my pictures and is more of a picture frame size to show people, drawing for my job, in car pop out dash (since it has GPS). It's a consolidation device if you want it to be.
