15% is almost insulting as 10%. Prior years new years coupons were 25%.

What really kills me is I want a magnetic T handle for hex bits but I can't find the thing I want for less than like 20 bucks so I guess I'll buy a whole set of t handle hex wrenches for 8 bucks from HF.

I've never had a problem getting the manager at my store to do a refund, even on a coupon.
The trouble with returns is some stuff has a restocking fee. So after the fee your discount is gone.

Store managers have a tremendous amount of leeway. They can mark anything down under "customer satisfaction" as they are responsible for their stores matrix. They know what numbers they can play with.
Good managers understand it's frustrating to overpay because you missed a coupon by a few days and won't want to have an unhappy customer. (Or a used return which sits on the discount shelf until they mark it down enough to sell)

I think he meant returning the new one with the old receipt so there should be no restocking fee

If anyone does the coupon hack (make 2 different HF accounts, only use one, wait for the "miss you" coupons to come in), the 15% off coupon you got yesterday lasts until January 31st. (You might have to use the phone number for the unused account for the coupon to work during checkout)
