Do yourself a favor: don't!

I have used both and TT is 10x better.
Sadly, it is, but out of my range. I have used TT and HR over the past 20 yrs. Just have to double and triple check tables with H&R. as a seasoned filer, I'd rather save money in software. TT is good for beginners and those who want to plug in numbers and get work done with minum effort.

I have done it long ago, but it's a moot point since you can see the actual electronic form on these softwares.

Saw a post somewhere that Costco will have reduced pricing on Jan 18th. Better to wait until then when Amazon hopefully will match with their $10 gift card.
Can u link the post?

Paid $10 bucks less on Nov 30 from amazon WITH $10 gift card. Seems as though they raised price by $10 and then give you a $10 gift card.

Apparently 99% of the population are self-employed now so Intuit is intentionally not discounting the H&B. Greedy bastards.

If you come across a better price for TurboTax, please share the links. I'm still holding out at this point.

Yeah there's no reason to buy right now. I guess next year I'll do the BF deal if the end of year deal isn't going to be a thing anymore.

Costco has Deluxe with state and $10 credit (e.g. for state e-file) for $55.99 in-store. It was $45.99 online briefly around 12/1 when Amazon had it for the same price but with an Amazon gift card instead of credit.

I bet between now and the end of February that Costco drops its price for a few weeks to $45.99 and Amazon temporarily matches.

If you use Deluxe and e-file state, then the price at Amazon and Costco is usually the same since the state e-file fee has been $10. If you don't e-file state then Amazon is better.

IRS free file has been available for years at certain income levels and IRS Direct File should be open to a lot more states this year. I understand some people may have more complicated tax situations, but a lot of people pay to file taxes unnecesarily. Intuit is a terrible, scummy busines and they shouldn't be supported. They fool people into paying for filing their taxes through false labeling and misdirecting users from their actual free programs into paid programs, and they are the main lobby against filing with the IRS directly.
