Ordered this model (not open-boxed) from Dell during BF and received it after. Occationally the laptop got no sound. Contacted Dell support, had to disable the audio card and restart, it will automatically reinstall the audio card and got the sound back. but it could happen again. The BF price is better.

Looks like it dropped recently. I checked this when the deal was posted and saw the $1176 price... now it's $1080 for same "Good" condition.

Had that problem with a high end Dell XPS laptop 3ish years ago, only fix was to uninstall and reinstall the driver like you were told, unfortunately in my case this happened once almost every two weeks.... Finally started restarting the laptop regularly like once a week or less and the problem seemed to have gone away because of the regular restarts.

Just so people know, this is not a solid gaming laptop because of the cpu bottle neck. It has half the performance of the 13th gen i9 and 14th gen i9.

Weaker than the than the i5 13000 series.
cpubenchmark. net/laptop. html

Laptop benchmarks are horrible for reviews. The benefit is unlike the 13th and 14th gen, its stable and uses so much less power and heat.

The chip has no risk of damaging itself from use. Unlike intel 1.5V 13th and 14th gen.

It also doesnt overheat the gpu. Solid for gpu heavy cames.

Great for battery life. I had this for about 2 weeks and returned it.

Great portability.

Its just my i9-12th gen laptop just stomping on in every game. Its my fault for not doing the research.

For a business laptop, its not bad.

Will laptops in 2025 come with Intel ultra and will the i9 and i7 13th and 14th generations be discontinued? If so I am buying a 14th i9 before there are only intel ultras available.

Why would Intel design and manufacture a processor that is slower? I am not sure if what people really want is an energy effective CPU....

I bought this laptop 8 months ago…I9 ultra/64GB Ram, 2GB HDD…backed it up with a 3 year warranty.

Zero issues playing the latest games, even slight cooling issues went away with the October bios update.
Even the 300+ nits isn't an issue, but I only use it indoors.

In hindsight, yes, I would have went for a non ultra version…probably the 18" for a bit more. But I'm totally happy with this.

My configuration and warranty, at the time, cost me $3700. The warranty alone cost almost a grand. Part of me feels like they are less likely to knowingly give you a shit unit if you sprang for a longer warranty lol. I know that's in my head but it's possible

I got an Ultra 9, 32, 4070 open box and it's been solid. As for performance, it plays all well.

To have a CPU that wouldn't degrade or constantly crash over time by having a CPU that doesn't require 1.6 V.

Bought a R1 open box several months ago, but come with several issues, then got a new R2, it is perfect so far.
