Beware, I was about to purchase until I read the reviews on Macy's website. Looks like the rust pretty quickly with some orders being delivered already rusted.
You get what you pay for, but I personally stay away from the single man Henkels knives. I've owned them and gave them away when I discovered better knives that hold their edge better. Their Twins brand is good stuff. $0.02
I agree. They might be sharp at first but they will dull quickly with normal use. So unless you enjoy sharpening a whole set frequently, I would buy a higher quality set
I find the most rare deal to be a good knife block set. I've been waiting for multiple years. The fully forged (not stamped) block sets from either Zwilling(2 man logo), Victorinox, Wusthof or similar just don't seem to go on mentionable discounts very often.
No expert here, just noticed even with 2-man sets some are not made in Germany if that's important to the buyer, so could be a good general rule, but not necessarily a law, so to speak.
I prefer the two rivet handle Henckels. The plastic on these ones feel a bit cheap, despite the blade being good and having and lifetime warranty. Look for them on Craigslist or FB marketplace if you want a better deal, or like the person above, Ross or TJ Max. Sure, they're Chinese steel but you get what you get, and it still is better than most other brands.

Mongoose has a $3000 mountain bike. They also have a $200 mountain bike they sell at Walmart.
Does anyone actually believe they are the same or made by the same place?
These knives are Chinese made knives that a good brand has slapped its name on so it can charge a premium without delivering the quality you expect from that brand.
Not saying the knives are bad at all, just saying you shouldn't expect German made knives. These are Chinese and likely are made with inferior materials to speed up production and make more profit.

Henckels keep introducing new lines of knives and I don't know whether the plan is to run the brand reputation into the ground, but it kind of looks that way. Some or all of these knives are serrated, so forget about sharpening them. The endcaps are plastic. If they say dishwasher safe but handwash recommended, they're not dishwasher safe, which means water will get into the seams in the knife, and they're likelier to rust.
For what you'd pay for this, you could pick up a Cuisinart chef and utility knife with the forged blade and triple rivet handle to handle 90% of all prep work. You could in fact buy three sets and just throw one out after each year, and it will still be cheaper.

Logo with 1 man, "German steel" made in China. Inferior quality.
Logo with 2-men, German steel, made in Germany. Superior Quality.
