Read a previous deal on the 5qt where someone bought also some 1qt and looked at the label manufactured date on them and it was 5 years old. Just an fyi for anyone buying them to check

No, but I think they are closing over 700 of their stores across the US...

What is this stupid fad of making "truck and suv" oil.

Did they just decide they could make the oil for the same engine in cars worse?

Not at mine. It's 8.78 a quart. They don't have it in a 5 quart jug.

After having my order canceled for the 1 gallon, this Slickdeal actually went through. Was able to buy 6 quarts at my local advanced. I did notice they had new labels and new pricing on all of the mobil oils, so this might just be a relabeling or rebranding of product.

Was able to get 6 qts needed for my Ridgeline oil change at OP price. I went to the store first to confirm they had it, and price check. It was $2+/qt more than online price, it was in the back, no sign of it out front. Afaik, they are closing out M1 Truck & Suv. Less expensive currently per quart than Super Tech box was and Havoline ProDS 6qt box. Easier to use. Good deal on a quality oil. Thanks.

i'm clearing out NW indiana Smilie

picked up 9 at one store just a bit ago. Just ordered 6 more from another.
Using the 5 off 20 each time helps too, makes them effectively about $3 each with the 5 off 20 coupon for new accounts.

Yep, people are welcome to use old oil in their car if they like, but I wouldn't. I'm sure it won't hurt an engine, but I'm not at all convinced that it retains all the additive benefits of a fairly high-end oil like Mobil 1 forever. There's a fairly interesting video on the subject linked below. People may disagree with parts of it, but it's simply a fact that age affects most everything and the idea that performance could be diminished in some way is a possibility. Oxidation and other factors could certainly have some effect over time, even if it doesn't go completely bad. If I'm opting for a somewhat premium oil, I'd like to know that I'm getting all the benefits of that formulation. It's pretty simple to just pass on it and go for the next deal if their stock is over Mobil's recommended shelf life of five years.

See info from a different forum below …
Quote from OilGuyPost :
According to Mobil tech support, since 2009, the date code has the following syntax. abcYYMDDd where abc are three characters representing plant code, YY is two digit year, M is a letter indicating the month, and DD is the two digit date. The trailing d is a letter indicating production run. (Standard month codes are A = Jan, B= Feb, C= Mar, etc).

The code on Mobil 1 oil I recently purchased is 10220B03A. This stands for plant# 102, year 2020, month February, day 3rd of the month, and 1st production run on that day.

Do not worry to use this oil. How is its molecular structure going to change automatically at five years. It is not. I have used much older than this and it was fine. It is like a pill you take that is solid like an aspirin, how is it going to change. Milk products, meat, and bread pay attention to but things like this I would not worry about.
make sure you shake up the up a bunch. when sitting on the shelf a while some of the additives will settle or separate.
