Great knives you don't have to care about. We have abused ours for 2 years and wash a couple of them in the dishwasher almost daily and still cut well.

But comments like that one aren't helpful.
Do they break? Do they not sharpen well after a while?
I keep them in my RV. I use better quality at home.
They get dull and you have to sharpen them. Nothing fancy, I just one of those electric sharpeners. Use wood or bamboo cutting boards, instead of glass or marble to keep blade sharp longer. Hone the blade every chance you get.

Do you get water trapped in the handle at all from the dishwasher?
I've used other Cuisinart knives and they're fine. You have to periodically sharpen them just like you would with more expensive knives; they're knives.
What happened after one year? Can't you just re-sharpen them
They are made of very low quality steel. They will rust if you use them in a dishwasher and they do not remain sharp very long before needing to be resharpened.

I thought it was the painted white knife made to look ceramic.
