And yesterday I ordered a refurb Pebble 2.1 for $26. It's the same as these plus a passive sub.

It looks like the wire is about 3-4 feet long, and my desktop is about a 6 foot distance to where I'd want to put them (PC on the ground, routing the wires behind the desk up to the monitor)
You can easily get a 3.5mm extension cable and plug it into a USB wall charger for placement flexibility. I have tons of both laying around in my junk box.
I wish they didnt have that issue but we didnt want to mess with getting a 3rd set, so we ended up ordering something else. These did sound the best in this price range though!
I've been learning that some of my USB cables and ports are not built for hard use.
The USB tabs can bend easy and the USB ports can be a problem too.
I have desktop ports on top of my case and one is often sketchy electrically (I get alerts telling me that) and I have to relocate drives.
USB-C power can also sensitive to distance and that's why USB-C cables aren't that long.
The newer ports use the shorter cables and that's a concern I have with newer USB
Some ports (like on case in front) share power with other things plugged in.
In some YT reviews users say plugging speakers into a usb power bank makes sound stronger/better
