Not a particularly good deal. Travel inside Thailand is cheap. You can easily find a hotel in a great location for under $100 per night. Or rent the equivalent of a nice AirBnb for under $50 per night. You can get massages from a top-reviewed massage parlor for $25 per hour or more typical massage establishment for $10 per hour.

How so? This resort appears to be about $150/night without all of the extras. I've never been so any advice helps!

Not a particularly good deal. Travel inside Thailand is cheap. You can easily find a hotel in a great location for under $100 per night. Or rent the equivalent of a nice AirBnb for under $50 per night. You can get massages from a top-reviewed massage parlor for $25 per hour or more typical massage establishment for $10 per hour.

Yup, Thailand is one of my favorite countries to visit. Super affordable, great food, weather, people and so much to do.

Not necessarily at this resort, but downtown and elsewhere in Phuket and the surrounding islands Russian language skills are very helpful. ;-) BTW it's hard to believe that this past Dec 26 marked the marked 20 years since that terrible earthquake in Banda Aceh and the subsequent tsunami. I was living and working in BKK then and not a good time to be there. Thankfully, they have greatly improved their tsunami warning system since then. Thailand is a great country (my wife is Thai and I lived and worked there 13 years), but personally there are so many wonderful things to see and do there other than spending time in a luxury resort in Phuket, but that is just my opinion - many love the tourist scene there. We use Qatar Airlines now to fly to/from BKK from Phila with a short layover in Doha. An excellent airline!

Correct. New planes. It is also now owned private and not government owned. Better service and planes have been slowly coming in since last year.

$1269 (tax & fees included) for one week sounds expensive for thailand but this is phuket, not "inside thailand". divide that by 7 nights with all the other inclusion in a swanky lux resort plus a cooking class Whee

Of course there are cheaper options in Thailand. This deal includes 3 meals a day and happy hour drinks for 2 adults and 2 kids at a high end resort, making this a good deal for what it is.

That's old news. I recently took a domestic air India flight and I was blown away. Younger air hostess, newer plane, excellent food and awesome customer service.
