Not a particularly good deal. Travel inside Thailand is cheap. You can easily find a hotel in a great location for under $100 per night. Or rent the equivalent of a nice AirBnb for under $50 per night. You can get massages from a top-reviewed massage parlor for $25 per hour or more typical massage establishment for $10 per hour.

Phuket?! 😀 It doesn't surprise me... their capital is Bangkok. 😆

Oh, come on... it's funny. We need more laughter in this world.

What if the kid is in 12-15 range age group at the time of travel. Do we pay extra or pay extra just for food, anyone know?

Never would I stay at ONE resort while in Thailand, especially at this price. New place and new hotel everyday (every other day at the most)

For the people saying this is not a SlickDeal, be specific on the alternatives. This deal is all-inclusive resort and is beachfront. $231/night to stay and eat three meals for four people seems pretty good. For context, I just spent $135 for a dinner for four at Olive Garden (you know you secretly like it).
I'm with you. If you want to travel by yourself and pay $7/night for a hostel have at it. Hell, I did all that when I was younger but at my age and with a family I'm more than happy to spend this for a week with basically everything all included.

I am with some others though in that I don't think most people would fly to Phuket, stay for a week, and then come home. Go here for a week, go to other places for a bit, etc.. We have been contemplating not going to the place we have booked for this summer and go back to Thailand, Bali, and Vietnam or something so who knows I may hop on this deal. Those Cathay flights are pretty darn reasonable!!

Sure, it used to be may be, till it was privatized back again. NYC just got the new planes as well, so really will be pretty good.

$1269 (tax & fees included) for one week sounds expensive for thailand but this is phuket, not "inside thailand". divide that by 7 nights with all the other inclusion in a swanky lux resort plus a cooking class Whee
Also airfare isn't included in that price

It's not just the planes. As I mentioned in my other posts, their attitude also sucks and privatization hasn't helped one bit in that regard - at least not so far.

I don't see how this isn't a good deal, at least decent..for the right people at least.

Assuming there's 2 adults and 2 kids and you'd spend $5 on each meal for each person (realistically you'd probably spend more, but let's say you're wanting to always dine out and going cheap per person every time), then that's:

4 persons * 3 meals a day * 7 days a week * $5 per meal = $420 for the week

Now add in the drinks at let's say $10 a day for both adults = $70 for the week

So $490 for food/drinks for 2 adults and 2 kids for the week and that's on the low side. Of course the other one-time things are worth something, but not as much imo.

So if you go with the cheapest room then that's $779 or ~$111 a night. Not really bad if you consider there's 6 pools and you're beachfront.

What might kill it I guess for some people will be traveling across the world (and paying the associated airfare) just to stay in an insulated resort. I would say this would be a pretty good deal if you could do this and then add another week staying somewhere where you can see the real Thailand afterwards.

Now for me - I'd go a little stir crazy here I believe. I'd want to see too much and I wouldn't want to stay at just one place for 7 days but for the right family it could be a good deal depending on your plans afterwards or the cost of airfare for you.

Ya, this is what I was thinking. I recently was considering taking the family somewhere exotic for 2026 (2025 we are already doing our family trips to Orlando for the new Universal, and a cruise in October over fall break), as our 2026 is open. I feel like I am regularly seeing really great resorts for a family like $100/night that are all-inclusive, so I guess you are getting a $25 massage x 7, and a cooking class extra? I feel like you are paying a premium here for this.

I've been to Phuket a few times long time ago. You can find cheap and fair quality hotel/resort, $30-$70. But this resort is pretty good with considerations of the location and quality. $1,269 for 7 nights does not look very slickdeal, but a good deal for a family.
