Not a particularly good deal. Travel inside Thailand is cheap. You can easily find a hotel in a great location for under $100 per night. Or rent the equivalent of a nice AirBnb for under $50 per night. You can get massages from a top-reviewed massage parlor for $25 per hour or more typical massage establishment for $10 per hour.

Been to Phuket as a single military guy. Amazing place, even for families! Things are cheap, everything can be bartered, it is dirty but you will experience a place unlock anywhere in the US. This seems pricey though as everything is cheap there!

That's kind of where I am. My parents want me to help them plan a vacation, because they always manage to spend $10,000 and have a lousy time.

I think I can get them two flights for $775 x 2 and 7-nights for $1269. Then they get a fantastic one-week trip that's simple. They could tack on 3 nights in another place for $50/night and explore the area, or just explore the area during their 7 nights. Either way, it's at least under $3k and minimal planning.

Not a good deal. 4* hotels in Thailand start from $22/day in the off seasons. And 3* starting from $9. Cost of living there is insanely low.

^this. I prefer the resorts where kids can't enter even after tipping the staff. I've got nothing against my kids or others but the resorts that refuse them are objectively better
