The removable bottom leaks after a couple of months. That seems to be the main gripe about this bottle - which kinda renders its functionality useless. So basically you are paying $7 for 2-3 months of usage - some can live with that life of the product and some cant. They need to re-engineer this product. Another gripe seems to be the mold that develops on the silicone gasket and its subsequent disintegration. So all in all - a hard pass for me too.

They didn't have a removable base before. Why did they F it up? That makes no sense. The whole point of these things is a single double hulled vacuum sealed container that maintains the temp of whatever is in it.

Okay... so the bottom comes off like a second cap? The cap on a normal vacuum insulated bottle is the main fail point and this thing has two. The point of vacuum insulation is that the inner container is only touching up at the mouth and there's a light vacuum being made during manufacturing. This is like having a really great down-stuffed jacket and having jeans to a skii trip.

Yeah, we have the older ones that are single piece and they're great. Was excited to see these because ours are getting banged up and then saw they now this this bizzare bottom cap…I guesss it's mainly for filling ice into a larger opening? So odd.

I've used mine regularly for 8 months now with no issues. That sucks that it could start leaking anytime though 😬

I got this a few days ago, unaware that it had a removable base. Since I've only had it a few days, it's not leaking. But it won't surprise me if/when it does. The materials with the bottle suggested it was to make the bottle easier to clean, but I don't see how it's going to avoid failure long term.

I have had several for over a year. Never has the bottom leaked, but we do not open the bottom to clean either. They are beat on also! Bought 4 more great bottles at this price especially!
