i have the 2023 i'd.4 on a lease and can honestly say i'm counting down the days until this car goes back

one of the worst cars i've ever owned, technology is very poorly designed and frustrating, countless recalls and range is mediocre at best.

there are many more comparable options when it comes to EV. Chevy Equinox being one that is also very well priced.

My personal opinion would be to get him a used car if he or she a new driver. Cheaper insurance and less fear of damage. Damaging a leased car is going to be costly. Not meaning to offend or anything, just providing my own experience as an ex-college student.

Might want to consider a used EV instead. Model year 23 one owner vehicles under 25k should qualify for an additional 4k discount. the lease deal looks to be 10k per year for mileage. Prices exclude taxes and fees. I have an id 4. Can't say I would recommend it

Make sure you check what dealer addons are being crammed into it- The local dealership near me had $4K of required addons that they were cramming into it. They wanted $4500 down to get close to 200 a month.

Any driver needs to be insured either on your policy or their own. If they're a driver in your household they need to be on your policy or excluded from your policy.

You are insuring the vehicle is an over simplification, vehicles don't get citations, tickets, duis, etc. drivers do. Your policy is rated based on the drivers, vehicles, zip code, annual mileage, principal usage, etc.

Most people insure the costly driver on the POS beater car, even if they aren't driving it. Family members are covered driving any car on the policy.

I was expensive to insure, definitely. But it was much easier to deal with as the primary driver of the old minivan used to haul around the family, even though I had a decent little sub-compact to drive around.

That's provided one qualifies for the EV rebate and the rebate is not cancelled before Feb 2025.

For people who don't qualify, lease is the best way to reduce the cost by having the dealer apply the rebate up front.

I remember I went to the VinFast dealership. Company had similar promo and also $0 down.
But after all dealer bs fees monthly payment became almost $400
