i have the 2023 i'd.4 on a lease and can honestly say i'm counting down the days until this car goes back

one of the worst cars i've ever owned, technology is very poorly designed and frustrating, countless recalls and range is mediocre at best.

there are many more comparable options when it comes to EV. Chevy Equinox being one that is also very well priced.

My personal opinion would be to get him a used car if he or she a new driver. Cheaper insurance and less fear of damage. Damaging a leased car is going to be costly. Not meaning to offend or anything, just providing my own experience as an ex-college student.

Might want to consider a used EV instead. Model year 23 one owner vehicles under 25k should qualify for an additional 4k discount. the lease deal looks to be 10k per year for mileage. Prices exclude taxes and fees. I have an id 4. Can't say I would recommend it

Good point but not a new driver, been driving for 3 years, actually has a car at home that we are using, but at this rate it would be cheaper than shipping the car twice a year out of state.

But in reality going EV would be hard for someone living in an apartment in a red state. Need a similar deal for ICE car.
What's red state got to do with anything? If there's money in it, the charging systems will be built. I live in Texas and I see more and more charging stations being built.

a lot of people don't even know that Texas is the #1 producer of renewable energy.

in 10 years, EV's will be seen as the norm. Charging stations need to improve, though.

Texas is a bad state for leasing cars. Tax would be an additional $104 in texas.

Ugh. But we need charging stations to be built before EV's regularly travel to those locations.

Which takes us to the next question. Why don't we see Buc-ee's style 100 station chargers anywhere? My experience has been that at least 1/3 of the chargers at a station will be out of commission when I arrive, and the wait to charge will be 3 times my charge time. I suspect, though admittedly I don't know, that the barrier to entry for building a commercial EV charging station must be greater than building a gas station.

I always make a mental note to never buy cars that they lower the price of the lease on and give crazy deals for. And never a Nissan. I brought my 2024 Lexus in for service last week and a salesman called me while it was in the shop asking to buy it since its in demand. The deal they gave wasnt bad, but it also wasnt good for me since I would be taking a slight loss and then I would have to buy another car anyway. Unless you plan on not keeping the car stay away from these deals, theyre deals for a reason. Companies dont care about you, they care about money, so if they arent making money on a model thats a sign its a bad car

There is more to buying a new car than how it drives.
1. I hated the "here at Saturn we don't negotiate" attitude.
2. CarPlay and Android Auto are bare minimum software inclusions. No auto manufacture has earned the right to exclude them.
3. I expect my cars to last for at least 10-15 years minimum - not 2-3 years.

1) To each his own. I can see why, if you are the type to drive to 14 dealerships and spend hours of research to try and get a better deal than uncle bob got, you might not like it.

2) To each his own. Android Auto and Carplay are just gimmicks and the Tesla software renders what most people use them for redundant.

3) You totally misunderstood this point. I'm not saying Teslas only last 2-3 years. I'm saying OVER THE LIFE OF OWNING THE CAR it will feel like you got a new car every 2 to 3 years just because of how many new features are pushed to the car. FOR FREE. No other car does that.

Yea right, tell it to the owners with HW3, they will never get their FSD fixed,
There is nothing wrong with their FSD, they just get updates at a slower rate.
They will also get a free upgrade if they purchased FSD and HW3 can't make the cut for unsupervised.

[quote]despite all this Tesla delivery went down this year.

1%. Is that a failure?

There are many Tesla forums in slickdeals, how you ended up here?
Because I started out looking at other EV's first, like this one. And ended up realizing it was futile.

Good luck in finding a dealer who will honor this deal !!
The "deals" on car manufacturers' web sites and TV and printed ads are almost all lies. Somewhere down near the bottom, there will be a notice in 2 point type that says something similar to: "One available at each dealership in the area where ad is shown."
The "area where ad is shown" in my area has more than 14 million people. Odds are slim you finding one.
The ads and "offers" are pretty much all lies designed to get you to someone who will try their best to upsell you.
Except for Tesla, whose desperation to move their garbage cars after the ongoing Cybersuck debacle comes through the screen like the stink of two week old pork in a broken fridge.

A rabbit? Don't you think that things have changed since the 1980s?
Wish it's true. My sister owned the newer bug and had nothing but constant repairs. Reviews of ID.4 don't show much better afaicr.

I don't own a id4 but my friend does. He said it's one of the biggest purchase mistakes he's made in his life. His is a 2022 and it's been nothing but issues. He had his drive unit replaced once and had to fight VW nail and tooth to get it under warranty. Other than that headache he said never again will he buy an ID4.

I have been following EV's and finally purchased a used Ford Mach E. 2022 Select with comfort package for under $25k. My income also qualified me for the $4k Federal used EV tax credit. For those that don't want to lease check out your other options. There lease deals seem to favor states with no sales tax or combined with state EV incentives.
